In this key role, the Business Analyst will be the interface between the Business and the Information Technology team ensuring all information has been gathered to assist better practices around IT.


  • Analyze and document business and technical requirements related to all aspects of software products through elicitation and consultation with internal or external customers.
  • Review completed work to verify its quality and accuracy according to developed specifications.
  • Research, document and develop reports and other solutions as requested by Back Office, Front Office users. Manage user expectations and keep users informed of the progress.
  • Coordinate and assist users during User Acceptance Testing cycle of all projects and\or reporting solution development. Ensure that all test cases have been executed and documented according to Wolseley standards and track all encountered issues.
  • Assist department in implementing/modifying daily operational procedures needed to run and maintain various operational functions
  • Continuously educate users on latest technologies, various application functionality and improvements of the technology and operations team capabilities in order to facilitate further process improvements and thus enriching the solution design process.
  • Maintain business aspect of relationships and keep in touch with upcoming enhancements and\or products. Participate in product development and client implementations by providing support throughout the different lifecycles.
  • Work closely with Developers during all stages of development life cycle and bridge the gap between business and technological sides of the solution.
  • Maintain and develop all operational and solution specific documentation.

Skills and experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business and 3 or more years’ experience in a related role 
  • Experience in a project environment, working on project teams is essential. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with end users, I.T. personnel, and other stakeholders at all levels across the organization. 
  •  Comprehensive understanding back office processes and technical applications. 
  •  Professionalism, integrity, strong quantitative skills, as well as the ability to prioritize assignments and work within a team are essential. 
  •  Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is required. 
  • A complete understanding of, and an ability to comprehend, the nature and workflow of complex business and technical processes. 
  • Good understanding of .NET and Sharepoint technology or have worked within one of these environments before. 
  •  Strong knowledge of system development life cycle, technique and tools. 
  • Excellent research, analytical and problem solving skills 
  • Fluency in both French and English would be an asset.
